Description
After catching up on commissions I wanted to get a start on new art for the fall season - and decided it was time for a new self portrait!
My old one, from 2014, looks something like this:
I never did get my hair 100% purple.... alas. (tbh my hair right now is kind of a red wine/burgundy which is pretty purple-y?)
ANYWAY.
I've been feeling super nostalgic while I worked on this. Looking at the two self portraits and seeing where my art has gone is pretty cool, honestly. I've grown a lot! And you can see visible improvement!
When people ask me at cons "I want to draw, where do i start?" I always give them the tried and true answer of "draw every day". And I mean it. Drawing regularly will only help you get better. Practice, practice, practice. You may find you like what you produce.
As usual, references abound in my self portraits - several are repeats of the same series but I think all things are relevant to me right now! First to name them gets a cookie!
